Munawar Saeed

The senior actor, Munawar Saeed is career of over four decades in the industry having done roles in 200 films and more than 1000 television dramas. Some of his recent famous dramas are Bunty I Love You, Shehr-e-Zaat Mere Humrahi, Main Hari Piya, and Roshan Sitara.

In the year 1967, Munawar began his showbiz career at Pakistan Television (PTV), Pakistan’s only state-owned broadcaster at the time. Just after starting showbiz career, Munawwar Saeed had proved himself as a dedicated and talented actor. In the beginning of his acting career, he had acted in several popular dramas of that time during the 70’s decade including Taqreeb e Imtehaan by renowned writer Ashfaque Ahmed, Mirza Ghalib Bander Road Par, Akhara and Gandasa.

He accepted the project and moved from Karachi to Lahore, a decision that marked a transformative phase in his career. While residing in Lahore, he immersed himself in the city’s thriving arts scene, utilizing all four artistic mediums—film, television, radio, and stage—to showcase his multifaceted talent. This versatility not only broadened his artistic horizons but also established him as a dynamic and adaptable performer.

Primarily known for portraying negative characters, he brought a unique sophistication and depth to villainous roles in TV dramas and films. His standout performances in movies like Anmol (1973) and Pehchan (1975) were pivotal in shaping his reputation as an actor capable of delivering compelling and refined antagonists.
