Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar began his television drama career with Dastak Aur Darwaza in 1995, a project he not only wrote but also acted in, showcasing his multifaceted talent. Expanding his creative pursuits, he later produced the film Qarz (1997), for which he also wrote the screenplay. Over the years, Khalil demonstrated his storytelling prowess through the dialogues of popular films like Ghar Kab Aao Gay (2000), Tere Piyar Mein, Mukhra Chan Varga, and Nikki Jai Haan. However, his major breakthrough came with the iconic drama Boota from Toba Tek Singh (1999), which introduced a unique narrative style that became his hallmark.

Khalil further refined this distinct style in his subsequent dramas Landa Bazar (2002) and Love, Life Aur Lahore. His ability to craft compelling narratives, deeply rooted in emotions and social themes, made him a prominent name in the industry.

Over the years, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has penned numerous drama serials, but he is best known for his all-time classics. His superhit dramas include Pyarey Afzal (2013), which became a cultural phenomenon; Sadqay Tumhare (2014), an autobiographical masterpiece; and Meray Paas Tum Ho (2019), a record-breaking serial that captivated audiences with its intense storytelling.

Renowned for his emotionally charged scripts and sharp dialogues, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar remains one of the most celebrated writers in Pakistani television history.

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar married his first wife Rubi Naz. Khalil ur Rehman married his second wife, Rozina Qureshi, while being married to Rubi. Rozina is an actress and was previously married to actor Faysal Qureshi. Khalil ur Rehman has a stepdaughter, Hanish Qureshi, from Rozina’s marriage to Faisal and has two children of his own with Rozina.
